ltd edition of vinvl release .after the last jezgro release by merzbow, the forthcoming one will be experimental, noise and dub created by submechanical, that is no novice in the experimental music. he was one half of noise/dubstep project cloaks and was involved with the 3by3 label. among many other releases the latest release on 3by3 was from jk flesh (justin broadrick of godflesh). when cloaks ground to a stop, the submechanical solo project was born. armoury ep is contained of smashing 4 tracks. tracks pressure and ea2277 are great openers - slow, eerie noise sounding like it s from the future dystopian wars. wave after is on b side, a track that is very crushing and distorted dub. the last track is armoury and it is a hard beating and crunching off beat track.

when we launched our digital imprint in 2013, one of our explicit reasons for doing so was to fund a vinyl label. it may have taken us four years to get to this point, but we’re finally here - fkofv001 is upon us. the debut fatkidonfire physical release sees new artists join our roster. taiko’s untitled grime has been blowing up the dances for a hot minute, championed by the likes of truth, spooky and many more. spooky even named the tune in his fact mag top ten most prized dubplates list! we linked taiko up with mancunian wordsmith skittles (currently smashing it with the levelz crew), and “don’t be stoopid” is the anthemic result. fkof fam and producer extraordinaire district adds an industrial grime-esque flavour to his remix for a killer one-two punch. the two producers collaborate, for the first time ever, on the b-side, entitled “yokai”. it’s a tune that demonstrates why we signed both musicians incredible atmospheres, depth and weight. beau at ten eight seven, as ever, has mastered the tunes to perfection. we’re proud of this release and, on first listen, we hope you’ll hear why...

delivery is the work of greg shin, who has previously appeared on la club resource and smashing tape records. now he appears on torn hawk s valcron video with a wonderfully diverse set of leftfield machine workouts, kicking off with the tempestuous drum twitches of brain drained. technology transplant is a polar opposite, focusing on calm drifts of ambient synth with a mournful tinge. the b2 is worth digging for, as four two nine seems to balance the two other tracks and make for the most club-ready piece on the 12inch.

vinyl only – after four first releases by myself, i invited three of my favorite producers and friends to take part in the first various artist ep of the label called retro future. a1 is provided by stevn.aint.leavn from the beste modus and certain circles camps. i ve been following stefan closely since the release of his big track -precious- and he is now making waves everywhere. for this record he provides -motion- a smashing house track that enlightened every dance floor i dropped it on. then comes alix alvarez, a real underground hero of the new york scene. he s been releasing tunes since more than 15 years, collaborating with mr v and franck roger. alix delivers the tune -no chaser-, a stripped back, deep and driving number that he is known for. the kind of track that made his reputation. on the other side of the record you ll find paolo rocco. he is the man of the moment, fresh from great releases on taverna tracks, rutilance or courtesy of balance to name a few. here we have -7284-, it has been a true favorite of mine over the last months. finally i round up the ep with -belle maison- a new jam i recorded a few months ago featuring an engaging french speech, mpc beats and fb-01 synths. welcome to retro future chapter one.
